A River of Light Lantern Parade
General Info
The 15th Annual River of Light Lantern Parade was held on December 7, 2024.
The streets of Waterbury were abuzz with excitement in anticipation of yet another year of the River of Light Lantern Parade. The theme for the parade was "creatures and critters" and the event once again delivered beyond all expectations. Creatures of all kinds and all sizes lit up the parade route and included monsters, sea creatures, insects, butterflies, woodland creatures and so many more. Thanks to all who made this event possible!
About A River of Light
Every December since 2010, community members of all ages have been coming together to celebrate and participate in the excitement of the River of Light Lantern Parade and festivities! In addition to enjoying the lengthy stream of enchanting lanterns, community members can gather at the parade's destination for hot chocolate, a bonfire, and entertainment such as Cirque de Fuego - fire spinners. Past years have included Burlington's street Samba band, Sambatucada, which has led the procession and are often joined by Burlington's Brass Balagan.
